Accepting the Reality of a Bad Month...

Ok so here is the end of month report...

Online: Managed to play just under 75k hands across Party Poker and Full Tilt. Recording a loss of $292.38 over 118 hours (plus a little bit more from tournament cashes).

But I did clear through just under $450 in bonuses, and $300 in rake back. So even with a losing month on the tables I am showing a profit of over $500 online.

I did run bad, and also play bad at times. I just have to accept it was a bad month for me.

I am officially an iron man on Full Tilt, which I really wanted to achieve through the volume I was putting in. I had to get at least 200 FPPs every day (well at least 15 days out of the month), and considering I only deposited on Full Tilt with 20 days left in the month, I had to remain pretty consistent.

Plans for next month online is to move across to Poker Heaven, clear though a 200% deposit bonus, and also they have a whole bunch of rewards for high volume players. I will post more details soon.

As for The Vic only played 5 sessions this month, and am currently up £90 (excluding tonight's upcoming session).

I plan to play 30 hours a week this month, and really work hard on pushing through to the £1-£3 game by March.

Anyway, that's all for now, I need to post some photos to cheer me:

Well this is the results of January 2008 (last year), much better times!
At least my set up has got better this year:

How about this one...

57,962 hands cleared...can I have one hand hold up?

Feel sick from variance and suck outs at the moment...

This is a nice one! Pair the river one time for him, blam!

How about this, this prick fucking raises me with air on the flop, catches a draw on the turn, and gets there on the river.....FUCK YOU!

I am really trying to keep cool, this is why you have a bankroll, so you can take beats. So calm down and play through it.

Anyone who thinks $.25-$.50 is a small game let me tell it plays deep and aggressive!

Anyway, back to the games!

Playing at Full Tilt...31,000 hands cleared...

Since my last blog I have moved house, switched over to Full Tilt and cleared 31,000 hands.

So where should I start? So after a year of so flat sharing with a mate, I have moved into a flat in Acton with my long suffering girlfriend Susanne.

I will post some photos of the flat, and my set up soon!

Due to the move, I was unable to play Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I was back in action on Wednesday, and have managed just over 9,000 hands in 2 days.

I cashed out my bankroll ($1,084.29) from Party Poker, and re deposited on my new rake back account over at Full Tilt.

I am off work next week, and plan to play a crazy amount of poker. I am even more motivated playing online now that I am getting 27% of my rake back!

400,000 hands here I come!

20,000 hands cleared...sick variance!

So I have managed to clear 20,000 worth of hands, and I am up just under $400. Considering the first 10-15k hands I wasn't really trying to win (just trying to break even), and I am now in the midst of some sick variance -I am quietly pleased.
Up, down, up, down, up all in one session...

As I was saying before the players are ridiculously aggressive, and this courses insane variance, I suppose its like playing at the Empire!
I am playing a very very loose aggressive pre flop strategy, and this is not helping the swings, but you simply cant wait for hands six max at Party Poker, you almost have to go hunting and fight!

Example of how light people are 4 betting, and how unwilling they are to lay down hands...

This sort of things means that at times you have to call down light as well, here is an ace high call gone wrong (I had the right read, he was drawing!)...

Although its pretty fun over here at Party Poker, I have managed to set up a rake back account over at Full Tilt, and it just seems a real waste of money to play this high volume of hands without getting any money back!
Anyway, I am out for now!

More crazy action with with the Party Boys...

The aggression levels on the 6 max ($50) tables is fucking crazy at the moment. I remember playing 6 handed $100 and $200 around 9 months ago on Party Poker, and thinking the games were good, but my god they have got even better now.

Huge variance in sessions like I said before, and I really would say you would need at least a 15-20 buy in bankroll but damn! I am excited.

Final tabled the £100 rebuy at The Vic tonight, really fucking frustrated to bust out 8th for £200. 1st paid over £4k, meh "same old story".

No particular reason why but I feel like posting a photo of my Jessica..

13,000 hands down....

So I managed to battle through 13,000 hands on my challenge to complete over 400,000. Can I keep my resolve? I really don't know!

I started off 12 tabling for the first 10,000 hands, and found myself stuck over $200. I must say although I cant claim to have played my A-game throughout those sessions, I did run pretty bad!

I was also buying in for 50 big blinds ($25 / half buy in) in order to preserve my bankroll through the variance of high volume multi tabling. I am not an experienced short stacker, and felt this was holding me back.

I was fortunate enough to final table a $11 freezeout for about $160 boost to my bankroll. Lost a coin flip to bust out 8th, same old story...

After that I regrouped, adjusted my strategy; I decided to cut down my volume to 6 tables, increase my buy in to full stack, and pound on the donkeys!

The 6 max games on Party Poker are fucking out of this world. You got a mixture of complete donks (with full buy ins), and incredibly aggressive maniacs. This makes for very high variance sessions.

I intend to stay on course for my challenge! Here's to another 10,000 hands!
