As I write this the two players to my immediate left are Joe and another old school regular.
One is doing Sudoku and the other what looks like a cross word, hard to tell sometimes because they clip the tinniest puzzles from newspapers -I have no idea how they see let alone scribble on them!
They are so focused and involved in their puzzles. They pay absolutely no attention to the game.
Folding for the most part (after getting a soft nudge from their neighbor to prompt them when it's their turn), and when they do find a hand to play, they slow play it every time! Every time!
They lose pretty much every night. They can't expect to win surely. But I think they know this. A good night is when they beak even or lose a little.
Strange, are they lonely? And depend on The Club (the Vic) for their social life ? But they are not social or friendly whatsoever. Very strange.
Meh.
So I booked a small win (£300ish) last session, and have got off to a decent start tonight.
It seems finally my loose image is starting to mature and several regulars are adjusting too much, resulting in me getting a lot more light action. This means $$$ to me!
